Parks and Recreation Stars Reunite at the 2023 SAG Awards The Talks Today

At the 2023 Screen Actor Guild Awards on Sunday, February 26, 2023, a silver-dollar pancake-sized Parks and Recreation reunion took place. Series star Amy Poehler (Leslie Knope) and her co-star and on-screen lover Adam Scott (Ben Wyatt) reunited on-stage to present the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor award in a Comedy Series at the annual event.

The duo traded barbs about Scott’s switch from roles in the comedy genre to more drama-oriented projects, referencing the actor’s involvement in the popular Apple TV Plus series Severance. First, Poehler implied everything had to be dramatic now that Scott was best known for a dramatic role. Scott responded in a melodramatic fashion before insinuating everything had to be a joke to Poehler, who continues to best known for her comedic performances.

Poehler and Scott reuniting onstage at the 2023 SAG Awards isn’t the only Parks and Rec reunion that’s transpired recently. On February 13, 2023, Poehler reunited with several other actors from the show for a Galentine’s Day post that reunited the original Gals.

Rashida Jones (who played Ann Perkins on the show) posted a selfie alongside Poehler, Aubrey Plaza (April Ludgate), and Kathryn Hahn (Jennifer Barkley) to mark the February 13 date on which Galentine’s Day takes place each year. The actors were each wearing winter weather gear as they leaned together for the picture.

The holiday first appeared in the Parks and Rec season 2 episode which bears its name. Galentine’s Day is an annual opportunity for Knope to “kick it breakfast style” with her closest lady friends. In addition to hand-knit gifts, the holiday also provides Knope with the chance to read essays about what makes her gal pals special. The holiday, which recurs later in the series, is sort of like Festivus on Seinfeld, except more empowering towards women and with fewer feats of strength.

Meanwhile, several of the gals who appeared in the social media post by Jons are reuniting in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It was reported in November 2022 that Plaza will be joining the upcoming Disney+ series Agatha: Coven of Chaos, where she will appear in an unknown role alongside the titular Agatha Harkness (Hahn).
