[Full] Watch Oppenheimer trailer & Spoilers: Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer’ Teaser Is Now Available Online: Watch the Exciting First Footage

The official teaser trailer for Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer,” which debuted exclusively in theaters last weekend alongside screenings of Jordan Peele’s “Nope,” has landed online. Universal Pictures has shared the quick teaser on channels like YouTube and Twitter, however, the video is now only available on a continuous live-stream loop.

“Oppenheimer” stars Cillian Murphy, a longstanding Nolan collaborator, as theoretical physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, the Manhattan Project’s director and the “father of the atomic bomb.”

For “Oppenheimer,” Nolan has recruited an all-star cast. Joining Murphy are Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr., Matt Damon, Florence Pugh, Rami Malek, Benny Safdie, Josh Hartnett, Dane DeHaan, Jack Quaid, Matthew Modine, Alden Ehrenreich, David Krumholtz, Michael Angarano and Kenneth Branagh.

“The world is evolving and transforming. “This is your moment,” says Emily Blunt as Katherine Oppenheimer at the outset of the teaser. On the screen, a countdown appears: “11 months, 24 days, 15 hours, 29 minutes.” Nolan is like a ticking-clock structure, and it looks like he’s returning to it as the picture counts down to the day “the world changes forever,” as stated on the poster and in the trailer.

As the title shows on the screen, Robert Downey Jr.’s character is heard. “The guy who shifted the world,” he says of Oppenheimer. Fire and smoke footage is intercut with black-and-white photos of Murphy portraying Oppenheimer.

After appearing in “Batman Begins,” “Inception,” “Dunkirk,” and other Nolan films, Murphy takes the lead in “Oppenheimer” for the first time. While preparing to play Oppenheimer, the actor overlooked the nitty-gritty elements of atomic bomb research.

“I prepared by doing a lot of reading,” Murphy explained earlier this year. “I’m interested in the guy and what [creating the atomic bomb] does to the individual. The mechanics aren’t really for me – I lack the intellectual capacity to comprehend them — but these contradicting individuals are interesting.”

Hoyte van Hoytema, the director’s cinematographer for “Interstellar,” “Dunkirk,” and “Tenet,” will also work with Nolan on “Oppenheimer.” Hoytema is presently receiving praise for his work on Jordan Peele’s “Nope.” Jennifer Lame, the editor of “Tenet,” and composer Ludwig Göransson are both returning for Nolan’s next film.

Notably, “Oppenheimer” is Nolan’s debut film for Universal. For nearly a decade, the director had been exclusively represented by Warner Bros. Nolan worked with Warner Bros. on every film since 2002’s “Insomnia,” including his billion-dollar-grossing Batman trilogy. Nolan and Warner Bros. apparently clashed about the shaky pandemic rollout of “Tenet.”

“Oppenheimer” hits cinemas on July 21, 2023.
